Surgery/Operating Room

Procedures are performed at one of the following institutions, depending on the nature and complexity of the surgery and the needs of the patient:

  • Pitman Ambulatory Surgery Unit
  • Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital
  • Tisch Hospital at New York University Medical Center

The Pitman Ambulatory Surgery Unit

A self-contained operating and recovery suite located at our office. The surgical suite was custom-designed by Dr. Pitman in collaboration with our hospital-based anesthesiologists and the architect, Richard Nash Gould. The operating room is one of the most spacious and rigorously designed private operating rooms in New York City. We are certified yearly by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) and have been granted the highest available level of certification.

Equipment is state-of-the-art and updated frequently. A back-up power supply ensures continuous operation even in the event of a power loss in New York City.

Most importantly, a highly qualified complement of board-certified anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other professional staff assist Dr. Pitman at all office procedures.

Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital

Most ambulatory procedures are performed at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital, a world-renowned specialty surgery hospital.

New York University Medical Center, Tisch Hospital

Tisch Hospital at New York University Medical Center is a tertiary care facility used for complex, prolonged procedures or for patients with medical infirmities requiring the attention of medical specialists during the peri-operative period.
