Pre-Operative Teaching

Prior to surgery, patients have an educational session with one of Dr. Pitman’s nurses to review all details of the surgical procedure and peri-operative course. The meeting is either in person or on the telephone and educates the patient and family caregivers in all aspects of pre and post-operative care. Full knowledge of the post-operative course eases apprehension and ensures a smooth recovery. If needed, an additional meeting with Dr. Pitman can be arranged prior to surgery.
